Loch Lomondはスコットランド民謡。
はじめて余市のニッカウイスキー工場を訪れた時、
リタさんの部屋に飾ってあったオルゴールの曲がこの”ロッホローモンド”
美しい曲だなとずっと心に残っていました。
歌うことになりたくさんのロッホローモンドを聞き
印象に残ったのがこのコリーズの歌でした。

この美しいローモンド湖のほとりで再び会うことはもうないだろう。
コーラスの部分の
『O ye’ll tak the high road an’ I’ll tak the low』
”あなたは高い道を行き、私は低い道を行く”は
故郷を遠く離れて亡くなった人の魂は
妖精が故郷へ連れて帰ってくれる
というケルト文化のいい伝えからとの説があるそうです。
こんないい伝えがあると知ってなんだかとてもほっとしました。
